Inspired by Chan McInelly’s 2 Cents

I have chosen this guy as my next inspiration.

I have such a love for my family from both sides of my parents. I do have a special place in my heart for my parents and their siblings. My Aunts and Uncles have always been such examples to me, and I am grateful for all of them. I love that as I get older and I am able to get to know them, I understand more about who I am and who my ancestors were.

My Uncle Chan is nothing short of a real stud-muffin. Two summers ago I was honored and able to spend a couple weeks at his house, and I loved getting to know him. He will never know the joy and comfort he brought to me. This guy is so REAL and HONEST, and I have so much respect for him, and the man he is. I felt very close to my Grandma Mac as I was at his house and observed his routine. It excites me to see and know that she still lives on in all of us.

I was very intrigued by his competitive genes, but not surprised since competitiveness runs deep in the McInelly blood. I loved every bit of it because he has the teasing sense of humor that brings love and life to any game. We were able to play many games of hand and foot, and this guy along with his siblings is a force to be reckoned with, at hand and foot. We had some great laughs in the two weeks we shared, and I will always cherish and never forget my time with Uncle Chan.

I am thankful for the wisdom that he shares, and for the eternal love, he has for his family. He still shares so many adventures with them and is driven to continue you living through his children, which is Grandma Mac to a T. I was inspired as I heard him talk about his children and their children and the pride he has in them. It warmed my heart to hear about the memories of his beautiful wife, Betty, and the generous things she did for her family and others.

No matter how grumpy he may come off, this guy is nothing short of a real and loving example of the pure love from our Savior, Jesus Christ.

I cherish the time I am given and am privileged to learn more and more about the beautiful people God put in my life. I am grateful for technology, so I can continue to watch these beautiful examples and the love their legacy continues to give through the family. These memories I want to share so that RJ will know his Grandma’s and Grandpa’s through the loving times with his Great Aunts and Uncles.
